Topic Dog Boards / Health / Sty in flatcoats eye (lid)
- By Sharon-Marie [gb] Date 31.12.04 12:01 UTC
Hello,
Any advice on how to treat a sty? Has been there a couple of days although she isn't bothering with it much- typical f/c style! More interested in her new Christmas toys!
Thanks

Don't do anything yourself.   Treating near the eye with any home remedy could be dangerous.

Most likely just be minor infection, when it will sort outself out in a day or two.

Could be one of those horrid little red tick nymphs (not the big juicy ones)(bit late in the year for those, though).   Needs a vet to take it off properly if it is, but unlikely.

Could be a small growth - if it hasn't gone after the Bank Holiday I should see the vet.

I agree with Jo get the vet to sort it out.

Thank you both- it's great to pop on here for advice. It seems to be coming to a head today so will observe for a couple of days and if no improvement take to vets. Thanks Again!
