My 5 month old GSP Monty keeps on jumping. He jumps at new people and when he's pleased to see us. When we leave food on the table, he jumps up and eats it.  How do we teach him not to? Phoebe

There are two different issues here - jumping to greet people, and jumping to get a food reward.  To teach him to greet people if he knows the 'sit' command - and make sure he doesnt' get any attention unless he's sitting.  To stop him jumping up at the table, make sure he never gets rewarded for it, by making sure all food is removed....

Your second problem is easily solved - never leave food on the table in the same room as him!
