I just bought some chicken thighs for the dogs now me and my mom have been having a debate over wether Moss my 13week old pup can have it raw my mom says no he'll get food poisoning and i say cooking it cooks all the niceness out of it. Is it ok to give him raw chicken at his age?

Well, when I get my pups at 8 weeks, they are already on minced chicken, lamb, beef, and tripe all fed raw :)

We give our puppies their first chicken wings at three weeks of age. In 9 litters fed this way, we have never even had an upset stomach from any puppy.

I started weaning my pups on raw at 3weeks. no problems. sucking chicken wings till their teeth came in and then there was no stopping them.

Yes, he can have it - I raised my most recent pup on it.  One thing though - chicken should be frozen first before feeding it to kill any parasites that might be in it.  There were a couple of cases recently blamed on raw feeding where dogs died from a parasitic infection.  If you freeze any of the meat you feed them first it will kill any parasites on the meat.  We don't need to worry for us because cooking does the same thing.

The parasite concerned is found in raw beef, there is no parasitical infection to be concerned with in raw chicken.

You might want to try chicken wings instead of thighs to start off with?  Thighs (being weight bearing bones) are sometimes a bit more work than wings :)  Once pup (and his digestive system) gets the hang of it, offer thighs, drumsticks etc.  Have to say I dont make a point of freezing raw chicken before my dog eats it (only beef) - Your dog will not get food poisoning from raw chicken!  Their stomach secretes hydrochloric acid!!  Not to mention the bum munching and other disgusting things canines ingest :D  Grated carrot probably isn't having much effect (not broken down sufficiently enough,) you may notice it come out the other end in pretty much the same state as it went in??  Try a blender or freezing!

Just FYI - humans also secrete HYDROCHLORIC ACID in their stomach :D :D :D  maybe dogs have a less dilute secretion ;)

The environment in a dogs stomach is more acid than in a humans which is one reason why they are less prone to food poisoning and can digest raw meat and bones.

Those aren't parasitical infections, they're bacterial infections.
