If the puppies mother came from ireland and is irish kc and she has had a litter of pups is it normal for the pups to be registered with irish kc or shauld the mother have been trasfered to the uk kc when she came to the uk,i know it seems a silly question but i do have a genuine reason for wanting to know as recently i came across something strange and i want to get all the facts straght before i do something about it

if your on about bull terriers the uk kennel club doesnt register ISBT
if not i think the dog would need transfeering to the uk kennel club

The best thing to do is contact the Kennel Club. Give them all the facts and they will advise you.

It depends - The pups can only be UK KC registered here if the dam is also
UK kc registered or the overseas breeder applies to the UK kennel club to get them
UK kc registered.

I know some friends who now live in Eire but previously lived here in the UK
and all their dogs were UK kennel club registered and they are also now IKC registered.
She did apply to get some of her pups UK KC registered so that she could show them here
but I can't remember what register they went on now. I know some just apply for the authority to compete (ATC)
number.

If the pups mother (dam) was imported to the UK - she should have had an imported status at the UK KC.
But the owners would have had to apply & obtain this before they bred the bitch to enable the pups to be UK KC registered.
If I'm remembering correctly.

If the owners want to register the pups with our Kennel club, then they need to register the bitch as an import, and then complete the pups registrations, this can be done together.

If they don't register the bitch here they can I assume regidter the litter with the IKC, but I don't know if they would register the pups with a UK address, as I would expect they would want them registered here first, and then allow IKC registration if they were to be shown in Eire.

Two of mine hae been IKC registered and I had to send in their KC Reg's and their Tattoo and Microchip papers to have this done.
