And don't expect it to be like a dog show because its totally different :D :D but very interesting :)
starts to imagine cats on leads in a ring lol. My picture in my head is a lot of cat boxes on shelves with a person walking round looking at them.

Cats are placed in pens that are roomy enough to take a litter tray, blanket etc. and they can move around in them. Judging takes place in the morning & then the general public can go & view the cats in the afternoon. Everything left in the cat's pen has to be white to make it non-distinguishable to the judges.

Just wanted to say, I used to show my cat in the 80's, not a lot but went to a few shows for a few years and if I could recognise the different cats in their cages I'm darned sure the judges could :) In fairness tho, at least they try to make it anonymous and not judge faces :) I've often wondered what would happen in dog shows if we all had to swap dogs (trouble is, most dogs won't handle for strangers)

Dill,
Look at the different types of "white" blankets there are to show your cat on...I'm sure if the same winning cat uses the same type of blanket constantly...it would be noted too. ;) Or litter/food etc....

Blankets have to be without identifying bindings, no satin edging etc. and folded simply (no 'special' folding) all food to be removed before judging commences ;) only water bowls to remain in cage along with white litter tray, blanket and cat. to be honest you wouldn't need to use anything like this, cats are as different as dogs, if you know the different cats or different 'strains' in the breed it isn't too difficult to tell which is which ;) ;)
If your cat is fife registered the whole set up is different and you can dress you pen with whatever you want as the cats are taken to the judge for examanation and you can remain with them the whole time.
