i took my bitch to be mated 3 wks ago but to cut a long story my bitch was started to get a bit freaked out so i stopped it the dog had a few goes on her but didnt actually tie we didnt take her back the next day as she still seemed freaked out so i thought never mind try again next season but over the last couple of wks she has been diffrent  more loving than usuall and just just not herself i have also noticed her nipples are more promenent and she has been sick a few times anyway my question is could she be pregnant even though they didnt tie or could it be a phantom thanks for youre help:)

Not tieing (a slip mating) can still make a bitch pregnant!  So it is possible she is.  BUt it could also be a phantom.

Why don't you go to the vets for a scan?

This year my female gave birth to a litter of nine puppies after a slip mating, so your female definately could be in whelp as a tie is not essential for a bitch to fall pregnant.  Your female  is showing signs of being pregnant, but like you say it could be a phantom.  At 4 weeks into pregnancy my female was showing no signs what so ever that she was in whelp, so a quick trip to the vets for a scan put our minds at rest as several little bodies were seen on the monitor.
Just a little word of advice though, if your female is freaked out easily and doesn't like going to the vets it is perhaps not a good idea to put her in a stressful environment if you don't have to.  Having said that a slip mating can result in a small litter and if there are only 1 or 2 pups in there you will need to prepare for that (presuming she is of a breed that produces larger litters).
Good luck.
