Some of you might remember the problems we had with Sparky and GSDs. We just seemed to have really bad luck with the ones we met, and he was attacked on 4 different occasions, so was starting to get really wary of them. This had then made the situation worse as he was obviously giving out the wrong vibes and I'd got to the point where I was constantly changing my route at the park to avoid anyone who had a GSD with them.

Anyway - a couple of months ago I met a chap with Abbie and Johnno - 2 lovely GSDs - very well trained, and really friendly. I explained the problem I was having, have been meeting up with him ever since, and Sparky now has a new best friend in Johnno who is 9 months old, MASSIVE and very boisterous! They play really well together - Sparky is less of a wimp now, and gives as good as he gets, but the best bit is that he no longer shies away as if he is expecting trouble when we see other GSDs. Thank goodness for friendly owners who are prepared to put themselves out like this!

Hurray for Abby and Johnno! A well brought up and trained GSD is a delight to see. What a brave Sparky :) For Busby's sake too Im glad you got this sorted out. Are you planning lots of things for his first Christmas?

Hi Lorelei
Yes - Christmas should be fun - we are off to "Pride Rock" tomorrow - a lovely little spot up on the Pennines near Oldham - to "show" Busby to the girls' Grandma and Grandad (it's their final resting spot). It's a good long walk from the car, so we've not managed to get over there yet as Busby isn't six months yet.
Christmas day we have a relation-free day (:-D), so it's off to the beach at Southport, I think - or maybe a trip over to North Wales - weather permitting.
Boxing day is the family get together - but my sister is hosting it this year - the one with the sickeningly perfect labradors, remember? At least that means the boys can come too, though, as they can play in the run with their pals and have a couple of walks over the fields, in between my glasses of wine and turkey butties (if I remember to pack my wellies!).

Have a good break yourself,
Tracy :)

PS. Just a shame Abbie and Johnno's dad isn't a Brad Pitt lookalike, eh? ;)
