Just had an attempted break in foiled by errrr not my GSD but my (wannabe a BC) Cavalier ! The CCTV(with night vision) picked up the perps after he had gobbed off ! & the security lights which are on a 1 minute time delay came on as they were beating a retreat-No surprise a group of locals yobs who were released from custody less than a week ago ! They had broken into a farm up the road an hour before ! Because they are repeat offenders they will be picked up by the local bobby later today, lol he has just been for the CCTV tape & brought a treat for my "guard"dog cavalier! as reward ! The silly sods left their prints at the farm !!! Looks like a happy Xmas for them(NOT)

Stacy,

I was referring to statements made by nk_london.  One on this thread and another on his/her 'black staffy pup' thread ;)

If you want a guard dog buy a pic of a dog to stick on your door and a beware of the dog sign. That way it dont need excercise cant be hurt by the burgular and cant show them where the savings box is. If anyone broke in my house if they had food id wake up to no dogs.

Hi,

I have to admit we also have cctv watching over the premises 24/7 with night vision.
It can track movement around our garden and alarm us in the house where excatly it is.Also we have time delay lighting activate record as necessary. The cctv is in colour
and will record real time.

After £10,000 Koi slug pelleted we were so gutted and and having our show Goldens we dont take anymore chances. We live in small quiet rural village theives etc are not fussy who they choose :-(,we also have 6ft fencing ,gravel driveway and our kennel are built out of brick upvc double glazing all doors have dead locks.

I have a sign that says dogs running loose and cctv notices up we have had no problems since.

Briony :-)

It appears that nk london has lost interest in this thread, since he has not added anything further. :)

Just to add my piece, I have a GSD bitch who scares the living daylights out of all and sundry that dare to come onto her patch, so much so that the postman now has a box at the end of our farm driveway. It is a hobby of hers, she looks out of the big porch window and does a tazmanien devil at them. If they got in, she would tear them to shreds, I know this because she did this to our landlord last year. We were very lucky!!! He didn't press charges, and he was only trying to leave a parcel!!! She is a rescue and has alway been this way in the house, out of the house, you would think that butter wouldn't melt in her mouth :D

Big hairy Briard on the other hand, he says very little in the house, but back in the summer, bit the builder quite badly who came at me in an aggressive manner.
