Topic Dog Boards / Health / Seasons?

Hi there
Just wondering if a bitch's seasons are usually very regular? Reason I ask is we had just reached the time where Millie could be spayed (three months after first season finished) and I had even made the vets appointment but then she came into season again. If it happens at this interval each time it will be impossible to get her spayed and it seems so unfair for her as some of her best doggie friends are intact males so she isn't allowed to play!

Any ideas anyone? Millie's a lab by the way....

Thanks

Ali

I would have a word with your vet I had a Cross breed do just that & the vet stopped the season then spayed her 6 weeks later she lived another 11 1/2 years(she was around 7 or eight when she was spayed)

As I mentioned on a previous thread 4 out of five of my bitches started off with shirt intervalks between seasons fradually getting longer between, so that by the fourth or fifth season they were going 6-7 months.

My 15 month old is a week into her third season.  the first two were 16 weeks apart and this one is 21 weeks since the last one started.  Her Mum wnet 18 weeks then 21 and then 27 weeks.  My oldest bitch had a season at 6. 9 and 12 months, and then wenbt five monts and then over six.  None of them developed any problems with this and they have alll had puppoes except of course the youngest.
