To Digger & lel
Thanks for your reply, Lel - I do not have a word for her when she goes, but certainly will start that now, fingers crossed and thankyou. Digger - she is only out for about 15mins as our garden backs onto a park so we dont actually have to do any walking to get there! She can use the patio area if need be (which runs around 3 sides of the house) but she doesn't seem interested in going there either. In between walks we often go on the patio to play (i figured if I was outside a fair bit it would encourage her to go outdoors) but she wont do anything and then when we come back in she immediately pees on the floor! Anymore suggestions or even confirmation that it wont last forever would be good as I am now starting to wonder what i'm doing wrong. I will definately hold off on the scalding, however, I dont want her to think its okay to continue using my kitchen floor as her toilet!! Cheers.

It wont last forever :) Dont forget pup is still very young and they do all learn at different ages just like children :)
Use a word for her ( toilet/be quick/weewee- anything at all) but always use the same word.
Take her outside frequently and say the word you choose- and stay with her and as mentioned praise and make a huge fuss and then treat. They arent soft and will soon get the hang of it :)

Is taht 15 mins each time????? The rule of thumb is 5 minutes per month of age per day - so at 14 weeks she should only be 'excercised' for 10-15 mins during the whole day..... Is there a good string barrier between your patio area and the park? If not, she may consider the patio to be too exposed - which would be why she won't go out there. Keep a close eye on her, never let her be in a different room to you to start with (although at some stage you will have to train her to be on her own, we'll cross that hurdle when we get to it ;)) and watch for the signals dogs use - sniffing, circling, possibly whining, and the second you see those encourage her quickly to the door and take her out. Also take her out as soon as she wakes up, as soon as she's eaten, as soon as visitors or family arrive home, and as soon as she's finished a play session inside (and every half an hour inbetween) to give her plenty of opportunities to get it right, and therefore find out that her behaviour can bring rewards as well as your wrath.....
We felt the same with Leo, especially when it rained you could stand outside all day and he wouldn't go but bring him back in and he would do it on the floor!
He also used to do it every night on the kitchen floor, then we took him up to scotland to stay with my granny and he had to sleep in a crate, he didnt have an accident that night or any night since, i was amazed!
Definitely look for the sniffing and circling and get her outside pronto, you might have to wait out there for a few minutes, they dont usually want to do it straight away once you get them outside, also as lel suggested use a word, we now have leo trained to go on command (unless he is being especially difficult) - You could try some of that housebreaking spray outside where you want her to go, although we didnt find that amazing, what we found better was getting some newspaper he had peed on and putting that where we wanted him to go outside and he then went to that spot to pee and marked the ground itself and then used that area.
Leo is nearly 1 now and i promise they do grow out of it, it just takes time and patience
