I am looking after a friends pup while she goes away to bury her grandad. Said pup is a beautiful little girl, and, although not trained to my standards has been easy to live with. That is until last night when she started with the runs. I rang the vet, got her on boiled chicken and rice and now she is getting firmer movements.
Further problems, one of my other dofgs has started too.
I was just wondering what you all do to combat this and whether you have any old school remedies for upset tummies other than the boiled rice and chicken?
The vet knows but has said not to take them in unless they stare to lose weight. I do not give any dog antibiotics unless they are seriously ill so i dont see much point them going in anyway.

Many thanks.

Like with humans, 24 bugs go round :( one of our girlies has been abit under the weather today and will just keep her on easy foods till she is better, just keep an eye on them, chicken and rice is a good thing to do.  Like you said anti-biotics are not nessersary!

Bio Yoghurt is very good for runny tummies ;) as long as they can take milk.  Has all the right bugs and the bad bugs get ousted :)
