Is it true that there is an awful amount of bitching in the ring?
I am hoping to get my pup out in the spring in a few open shows but have heard a lot of bad things about the people who show.
I really dont want to enter into anything that will require my being on my guard constantly and feeling that i have no right to be there.

I would appreciate your views on this as i have been booked into ring craft for the beginning of Jan and would like to know if i should swap to obedience insted and just have a pet.

This pup was born as show potential but i dont need the stress if its really that bad.

Any replies appreciated.

Take no notice guest and have a go and see whether you and pup enjoy it :)
Some people will bitch no matter what they do in life but Im sure you'll also meet some lovely and helpful people in  the show world- I know I have :)
So if I was you Id have a go and see what you think.......... :D

About the same amount as in any other sport/hobby. I've made some very good friends through showing. You'll need to make up your own mind.

Yes there is bitchyness but only a minority which do give a bad name to everyone :( unfortantly  Most the people are kind helpful etc.

Theres good and bad people everywhere...the show ring has both but you don't have to mix with the nasties!
Showing is fun and a great way to meet new freinds with similar interests

Why not do both once your puppy is trained for the conformation competition then you could start obedience & do both all my dogs are trained for breed & obedience
