how much would i be looking at to pay for a 6 week old puppy

I wouldn't give £5 because 6 weeks is too early for a pup to leave its Dam, unless there are very exceptional circumstances.

6 weeks is too young for most puppies to leave their mum (nearer 8 weeks is more normal), but depending on breed, anything from £300 to £1500!

Way too young, depending on breed anything from £300 right up to £2300.

And if its cheap, ask why.  Many puppy dealers and farmers are quite cheap but then the pup hasn't had a good start (parents health tested, early socialisation etc.) same with  people who just put two dogs together and don't care about the health/temperament of the parents.
