i have a problem and am sandwiched between husband n mother. mine that is. my mother invites my son up his house every week. he is nineteen almost, but young for his age . mother is playing tug o war with us and trying to undo my house rules by telling my son. you can do it. your mother did.when she was young. she undermines me in everyway cos she wasnt a success as a mum and feels threatened by our kids turning out well.she is a great manipulator. i have advised my girls. wait for right guy to give yourself to. my mum told them. dont listen to her she did it and got pregnant. my kids are losing respect for me and their dad while my mum.is hailed as their buddy. last sat was the last straw when my son was found drinking alcohol and watching programmes like driller killer . which she used to put on when i was young. i feel like divorcing her but i cant. my husband is furious. what do i do. my mum has always pulled my strings but has no moral obligation toward my kids safety. i have a second son who doesnt like her cos she says he is just like his father. she means he cant be manipulated. my mum let me wander the streets as an adolescent. out all night.i have always been there for my kids and have even stayed at home to ensure they dont go through what i did. my hubby is self employed. please what do i do. i feel the need to break from her but she has always made me feel guilty for everything im 42 but still feel i have to earn her approval. last time i saw her she told me im a mess. cos i try to teach my kids right from wrong.   .
