I have a nine week old husky pup that is having realy runny poos have given only the food that the breeder gave me also was told to give chicken and rice but all books say not too,
what is the best thing to give please help
In most cases this is usually a sign of overfeeding, check with your breeder that you are feeding the right amounts as this is a classic mistake that most make. Cooked chicken and scrambed eggs (no butter just the egg) usually firm a pup back up.

thanks for reply will try the egg in the morning do you know what type of food is best to give huskys dry mix or tins, would appreciate your views

What does the vet say?
vet said to give chicken and rice
General rule is kibble is better than tins. Go for the more expensive brands such as Royal Canin.
I actually feed a BARF diet but my pups started out on kibble. If you do a search on BARF on this board or the main husky club bulletin board (if you are a member) and you will get loads of info on this subject from all perspectives.

Hi Guest, what ever you do don't panick! Huskies have a VERY sensitive digestive system and normally work well on a Very high protein and oil diet. I agree with Liz that the more expensive food is best as it usualy has a higher protein and oil content.
I hear alot of new husky owners have this problem. I had it for ages with some of mine until i found the right food for them. Many of my dogs are of different brands and diets beacuse of this and still the odd day we get a runny poo.
A BARF diet does tend to be the best for a husky and would highly recommend it. Good Luck Guest. :)

I had runny tummies with my first two malamute pups.
My third and fourth were put onto BARF at 8 weeks, and have yet to see a bad tummy in either of them :)
