Whereabouts in Cheshire Bullboy/bobsmum as your family and mine could be neighbours - not me I hasten to add I live in Solihull but parents still live up north and my Father lives close to many Man U.players however his neighbours certainly don't drive Bentleys.
I drive an audi A4 Cabriolet which I treated myself to when the new model was launched 2 yrs ago however it goes next year as I have a boxster on order as the new model has been launched in Germany but doesn't come out here until 2005. Sorry but cars are my OH's thing and he currently drives a Range Rover (he has to have practical for the dogs) however he also has the baby Aston on Order so that will all change next year.

We have a Porsche Boxster,RangeRover and a Honda Civic.
Porsche= Sunday car ( dry weather preferably, other half panics if it gets dirty)
Range Rover = Dog car, horse car
Honda = work car, easy to park.

Have patience - don't nag! ;)
My ideal car was a Morris 1000 Traveller. At the moment I drive an F-registered VW Passat estate.

JG The Morris 1000 Traveller was the car mum had when I was a ickle girl ! :D
I never forget sitting in the back looking at the road whizz by through a big hole in the floor ! It was decided it had got such a rust bucket that it went to the scrap yard ! We were all very sad to see it go ! :(
I current have a Stilo Abarth. Italian full of problems but I love it never the less ! :)

Bullboy...you sometimes have to allow a bit more than 20 minutes for people to reply :D
We drive a Volvo 850 T5 estate. Big enough to fit the two Malamutes in and fast enough to amuse hubby ;) :D

We've got two Mondeos - one a hatchback and the other an estate. We also have a transit van. If I had money....... I'd have a bigger van!!! :D I'm really not into "posh" cars.... they aren't really up to carrying dogs! LOL
But for REAL power, forget the horse power..... get a sled dog ;)
My first car was a mark 1 Escort that was bought for £100 and I had so much fun in it! Although, having grown up, I tend to keep all four wheels on the floor now :)
malakai i have to agree with you if we had loads of money we would just get a better vw camper not a newer just better condition lol
we have a citroen ZX Aura estate diesel only an old N reg but it does the job and very economical
Heidi
Just a plain boring 2yr old ford focus here, it gets me from A to B
Vauxhall Astra estate, reliable and nice to drive for an estate :)
Would love a Landrover or something as to be honest our car gets scratched to death and covered in mud most of the time!! :D
My OH would like something sporty but i keep telling him it's not practical ;)

Snap Vauxhall Astra Estate diesel 51 reg only had her a week, and she's my 3rd Astra.
I love em for reliability, economy and being the perfect size for me and my Boxers :D
I may be tempted by the Zafira one day but they are built on the Astra chassis.
Not that worried by 'flash' motors - costly to repair especially if someone scratches the paintwork
If money were no object and I had plenty of room to keep more than 2 cars I'd opt for
a vintage Mustang, not very dog friendly but always loved em since a child.
There was a beautiful metallic blue one that used to live in a nearby village.
We've got friends with a beautiful baby blue convertible Caddilac and they also have a bright yellow
US pick up with plenty of chrome etc real eye catchers!
Oh and they allow their OES to travel in style in both of their vintage cars.
lol,
We have a two year old Smart Car - Infact we just put an order in for a new one in march - We would like a Smart Roadster but there is no chance the dogs can fit anywhere in it :D So we opted for a upgraded smart model with lots of added toys. lol.
We both love our dogs but we love cars too! :)

A cars a car as far as I'm concerned as long as it does what is required and a name badge on the front doesn't make any difference.
We have a little ford fiesta for commuting to and fro work and a ford Galaxy for the family and dogs.As far as the work car is concerned cheap is the most important thing. As for the family car its practicality...its got to take 4 dogs and/or all the kids and us 2 adults

I've got a Skoda (oh no!) Octavia Estate, which is the dogs' car, and hubby has a dinky ickle Kia Pride, which the dogs don't fit in

I love my Skoda so much that when the lease comes up next time I'm going to have another, especially now that the salesman at the Skoda garage has told me all about the new go fasty turboed up one that will be coming soon :D This will be an excellent compromise between being practical for the dogs and the nasty little boy racer that lurks within me and only needs a baseball cap donned to come out ;)
Lesley
I have a renault laguna estate....and its the best car i have ever owned!
we had a Laguna before we bought the citroen, it was a fab car to drive, i like the citroen but the Laguna was so nice
Heidi

Mine is called me own two feet :D :D :D
I don't/can't drive due to not having enough eyesight. so I travel to shows with several different long suffering friends. they probably won't see this, but I owe thanks to Andy Nethercott (local to me in Bristol), Bryony Gray (Somerset), Enid and Malcolm Hicks (Chepstow), and Colin and Treena Maun (Hereford) for getting me and the girls to the shows. They all drive estate cars or 4x4's for the sake of the dogs.

I drive a nearly 6 year old Renault Scenic. I'm so into cars that when I collected it from the garage I had never even sat in one before :D :D I'm soon to sell it (when hubby retires we won't need three cars) and will 'inherit' the children's Peugeot 206 SW :D
Daisy
I don't post here very often, but I had to reply to this thread!
I guess my user name gives away my car! (Actually I have dogs named Cooper and Mini)
Actually, my husband usually drives the Mini, and I drive a Rover 75 (my other dog's name is Rover :D)

we have an astra estate & a frontera estate.

Sorry Bobsmum I got confused. Dad lives in Prestbury and Mum in Wilmslow. I must admit though I much prefer Alderley Edge and have had some fantastic walks there. What was the book based on the area - Teacher read it to us at school as it was her favourite however I can never remember the title.

I'd forgotten about that - it was really scary when I was about 10.

Brisingamen (no 'h'), just in case anyone goes looking for it - I loved it too!

I have a VW Golf TDi - But am in the process of (hopefully) getting the new mark5 GTI (Lush) My Brother in law has just been caught speeding in his Audi TT - So I'm hoping he gets a nice long ban so I can look after it for him while he's out of action :D
Sarah
Ah, we're back to this are we?! :D  Well, I have worked extremely hard (as I'm sure we all have) and studied for many years to get to the position where I am now to be able to afford my Range Rover Vogue and I have just put my order down for my new SL500- my Christmas present to myself with my Christmas bonus from work. :) As it happens, I don't like the Bentley's for driving-very impractical. :) And believe me bullboy, having a car bought for you is great, but the satisfaction is 1000-fold when you have worked hard and bought a car for yourself, no matter what make and model. I was extremely fortunate to grow up in what could be considered a wealthy household but I was taught 2 important things-that there was no need to brag about it and that I was taught the value of money. May you enjoy your Mini-nice cars, but no room for the dogs in the boot! :)

Exactly - what car you drive - on the face of it - doesn't really say much about you :) I know quite a few millionnaires that drive around in quite old, ordinary vehicles. Likewise some people drive around in new, really expensive cars - but are very in debt because of it :D Not every one is interested in cars and some are quite happy to drive almost anything, as long as it is reliable and does whatever job you require it to do :)
Daisy

You know what they say - people with flash cars are deficient in other areas ... ;) :D
