A new idea has entered my head in the shape of obedience Ollie is doing really well at his training classes does long stays while im out the room good heel work etc. So im wondering if i should do obedience with him, Where do i start? i've seen it at companion shows but do they have like special obedience events are there any training places specially for this training. Please help someone.

does any body at your dog club do it competitivley?

Im in Staffordshire there was a man and his gsd that did it but he left to do it but i cant remember where he said he was going to. Dont know how far ill get in obedience with my monster but its all fun. Im just gona go lookie on the obedience uk now

There's a big show at Stafford in January - at the showground.

My dogs love obedience (except my Lab LOL) and even she still loves shows .... although I think its more the social side and bacon butties! LOL

Im been looking at south staffs dog training, I think ill give them a ring. Can you just take a dog along to watch at the Stafford one and is there a spectator fee. As id like to go watch and maybe pick up some advise etc

It's totally free to go and watch but you are not allowed to take unentered dogs.

Obedience shows are a lot more relaxed that breed shows & yes(being an obedience show chuef steward)I know unentered dogs aren't supposed to be there(one reason the KC changed the rules re puppies over 4 months being allowed to entered NFC at Ob Shows) but I doubt anyone would notice unless the KC field rep is there as long as the dogs are well behaved

We hold our show on common land on a race course & so cannot stop the Gen Public coming into the show the same with a lot of shows One nearby by club holds theirs in a public park !

Ok what date is this thing on and what time i so have to go. I rang south staffs training and left a message but they dont seem to want to get back to me so tut to them ill find somewhere else. Whos going to staffs county with their dogs. I cant wait till Jan now me to excited

its on 16th jan (sunday),probaley starts about 10am,goes on till 5ish.
