Have recently purchased a young bitch (2 yrs old) who is very nervous, fine with other dogs, we also have an American Cocker,(Male 8 yrs) but just nervous around humans - trying very hard to socialise her at every opportunity.  But would it help to get her a companion or would I be adding to my troubles.  At the moment she's very reliant upon me, now at point where she would like to be hand fed and sleeps by my side.  Am trying very hard to be consistant - not sure if she just misses other CKS company as came from large family/breeder?

I Have a 2 year old cavalier girl I bred her so no history to tell ...up until a few weeks ago she was very outgoing on walks and now she seems hard to get out on walks.... I have been talkng her to the school near me every morning and just mixing as best i can ..she lives here with 3 others and isn't shy at all indoors..... I have no idea why she became nerveous on walks as I am the only one who takes her out and have had no problems....i'm hoping its a phase as we had a good walk today ..as for a companion cavaliers thrive with other dogs but i would try and cure the nerveousness first ........good luck
