Hi i'm looking to be my inlaws a book about Border Collies for christmas (from their Collie pup!) I have seen 2 very similar titled and am confused as to which one to get. (about understanding border collies) Advice greatfully recieved. They have had dogs in the past including a previous Border Collie but views are a bit perhaps old fashioned.
Understanding Border Collies By Carol Price is a very good clear book to start off with. The one by Barbera Sykes is also very good but then I do tend to have a bit of a collection of BC books here LOL. Gillian
I would go with the Carol Price one too it is very good and easy to read, not many pictures though. If you want one that looks a bit more flashy with loads of pictures then The Ultimate Border Collie by Alison Hornsby is good.
Have a look on Amazon, they usually have readers comments on there, good prices too.
Annette Conn has written a very good book called It's A Dogs Life: Health training etc. I have found in the past any books on specific breeds are generally written by people that have possibly owned one or two and think they know how the breed ticks. Sorry but that is my opinion. Hope you find one that is really good about Border Collies, if you do let me know.
