I'm trying to find what I would call a solid leather slip ie not a piece of thin, nylon rope with a thin piece of leather rolled and stiched around it! I would prefer a rolled one but if it's flat then I'm sure I can live with it but also it had to really be a sort of tan colour so as to match in with her coat colour!
Am I asking for too much?! I hope somebody can help!!!:)

Try here they do solid round leather in 6mm and 8mm which they make into half checks and slip leads and leads.

Do you know if they have a stall at the major shows?

No they could nver afford to do that. they do some of the South West Open shows, and are at Evesham show at 3 counites in July the day after NWPB. It5 is a cottage industry with the man making everything himself by hand.
They also normally do Henley on Thames CS open show at Rivermead Leisure centre
Caversham, Reading at the end of January.
They were also at Paignton Ch show last year that I went.

They were at W&PBAS (Ingleston) at the beginning of November and caravanned there until the following weekend for the Gundog Champ Show at the same venue. It's probably worth emailing them from their web site to ask where else they are going - you may find they will be local to you in the near future.
Failing that they sell so many excellent varieties of off the peg but still hand crafted collars, leads, harness etc that you may not need to order one specially made for you and I'm sure you could just post them a cheque.
Regards, Teri :)
Many Thanks :) I'll send them an email and see, Reading isn't too far from us (I lived there for three years  ) So may pop along if they are at the show in Jan :)

Hi Emily Rose,
I can vouch for the quality of Accolade and it's very good value for money too - they have an excellent website but will make things sized to order for you with a good range of colours too. I just got a custom made rolled leather slip collar and separate lead to match (longer and narrower than standard size) and it worked out at about 40% cheaper than one I had hand made elsewhere and is every bit as nicely finished in soft, quality leather.
Teri ;)
I can also vouch for Accolade leather too, another very happy customer :)
I have 2 leather slips, dark brown and black.
Plus 2 leather half checks and 2 Rolled leather collars , one head collar and one short leather lead.
Fantastic service and after sales service too. Just ask and they'll do their best to help you.
I'm getting another half check accolade collar for my newest Boxer 'pup' now nearly 11 months old.
If you look after the leather they last a lifetime too, as long as you keep them away from chewing
monsters that is :D

Accolade leather is very nice....still trying to get dad to buy me one from there, I know exactly what I want and they have said they can do it BUT I ned dad to give them the measurments and card details!!! ;) ohwell looks like I won't be getting one any time soon....

maybe try www.hideandcollars.co.uk they had a stand at the LKA dog show last friday.

On the same subject does anyone know where I can get a nylon show lead (slip lead) it seems to be really difficult to get them in brown and ive lost my last one. I have a leather one but would prefer nylon to start my pup off with. The next show I go to will be crufts and I was hoping to start his training before then ;)

I have ordered leads from Accolade and of the 3 I had, the stitching has come undone on 2 of them. I have had 3 items from "Hideandcollars" a lead and collar set, a thin leather slip lead and a hound collar. The quality is superb.
Dawn.
If you return your accolade ones to them they will fix them.
