Just wondered who was going to crufts next year and to do what ?
We have to go as my daughter has qualified in the ykc handling for Saturday and also [this is the surprising one] the ykc obedience on the Thursday. The even better thing is my daughter is only 6 and she has a large munsterlander. So we will have a busy crufts as we are also doing discover dogs on the Friday. Just wondered what variety of thing all the champ doggers are taking part in?

Well done Nicky on having such a smart girl, so young too!!!!  Quite an achievement, wish her all the best.

We'll just be doing the "strutting" stuff as usual - I don't even ATTEMPT obedience, the dogs just point their paws at me and laugh :D

I don't do obedience either, it was all Erin's doing and she has done all the work with him this year so its even better. Doing the strutting thing is a lot better an idea, crufts is not a great place when you have dogs!!!!!!
- By Teri Date 06.12.04 23:27 UTC
Well even bigger congrats to Erin (what a beautiful name) for doing it all herself.  She must have a very special gift, especially with such a large breed ;)

ps. we'll be "strutting" with the dogs - we do the beauty side of it (allegedly) - but if Erin wants to drop by on Pastoral day and give my mob a crash course in the brains side of things she'll be very welcome  :D

Regards, Teri

We have two friends with tervs [ one has a litter at the moment -lovely] so she is used to getting mobbed by them, she loves belgians actually. She has always had big dogs so hasn't really had the option of a little one although she borrows various breeds at the ringcraft. I will be doing the strutting thing too as you get away with my style of handling in there [bad!!!!] I can' wait to see Erin and Hogan doing their thing together. All those people out there that moan about kids and dogs should see these two.

Hi

I am in the ykc intermediate obed with my young collie and ykc advanced obed with my older collie on thursday, I will be there on thursday for the biathlon and rebecca pointer presentation so will look out for Erin! Shouldn't be too hard to stop as dont think there will be many other munsterlanders doing it :D

I'm showing on thursday for someone, saturday is the R&W, Sunday I'm handling an Aussie, YKC senior handling whichever day that is, and YKC grooming competition whenever that is!  I will have a busy time I think, well done to erin for being in the obedience and handling.
- By Teri Date 07.12.04 00:08 UTC
Hello Ice Queen,

Now you're obviously more talented and versatile at the doggy stuff than me but we clearly each excel at multi-tasking - you, with ALL things doggy, whereas I specialise in ordering my OH about to pull trolleys, cages, fetch and fill water bowls, buy copious amounts of coffeee, find and hang onto ringside seating etc etc (never actually let him have a dog tho!)  Oh, and of course he does all the driving each way and pays the hotel bills <LOL>  Hey, reading this back I'm smarter than I thought :D :D :D

Teri

I'll be at Crufts too, but purely as a spectator :D Hope you all do well, and maybe get a chance to say Hi to you all.

We'll see you there Teri - hopefully the pup wil be fit to show again ( one show at 6months - qualified -then went lame with Panosteitis :( ! ) and Louis will have some COAT - will your new babe be there ?
- By Teri Date 07.12.04 10:58 UTC
Hi Trevor,

Yes, luckily the manic Mayhem was of an age to be shown at W&PBAS and won the PB class so qualified at her one and only opportunity (we're not able to do LKA this year), and one of the boys was shown and qualified too ;)

Sorry about your youngster - must be a nightmare trying to rest him/her (?) and tell Louis he needs to start growing his woolies now or Santa won't be good to him :D

See ya there, Teri
- By ice_queen Date 07.12.04 13:52 UTC
Ahhh but I'm more verstile then what I first let on... :D Dad or grandad does all the driving, dad/grandad carry all the bits, brother keeps dog water filled, dad pays for and buys hot chocolate, mum/nan pays for entries.  Do you think I'll make a good wife when I'm older??? :D :D :D :D

see I'm very verstile, which is freaky seens I own to very versile breeds....can do everything :D but never perfect! :(

he he,
- By Teri Date 07.12.04 14:27 UTC
OK, OK, OK smarty-pants!  No, you'll be no use as wife material unless future hubby is VERY self sufficient :D  Re: >can do everything, but never perfect!<  - you've got it covered, everybody doing everything for you, certainly sounds perfect to me <LOL>  Oh to be young again :o

How do I do a thumbing my nose smiley .........

Teri :D
- By ice_queen Date 07.12.04 14:51 UTC
But I do have a little problem...come next year and I pass my driving test (hopefully) I'll be sent out on my own! oh I'm getting to old!!! ;)
- By polly_45 [gb] Date 07.12.04 01:53 UTC

- By archer [gb] Date 07.12.04 07:34 UTC

Showing Arthur, all being well in the Flatcoated Retriever ring.
- By ClaireyS Date 07.12.04 13:19 UTC
I will be there on the Saturday watching Fagans sister :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 07.12.04 14:55 UTC
Looks like it will be Three girls from here , as sadly Jozi has missed, so will be going after all.  So that will be Post Grad bitch for Lexi, Limit and Veteran Bitch for Kizi, and Open for Jozi, with Jozi and Lexi in Good Citizen class.  Lexi is a week out of Junior at Crufts.
- By archer [gb] Date 07.12.04 15:08 UTC
Sorry to hear Jozi has missed...you must be very disapointed!
Nikki
- By Brainless [gb] Date 07.12.04 15:28 UTC
Just thankful I have Lexi from her, but am most disapointed to be letting some lovely people down who had booked a pup, especially one couple who are great freinds of th Sire's breeder as it would have worked out perfectly for them to holiday in UK over Crufts, and then fly back home with a pup.

It is one of the donws of having a waiting list, it is disapointing people I hate.
- By pinklilies Date 07.12.04 17:42 UTC
I will be there on thursday with Zorro my youngest afghan hound....only just got him qualified, so havent decided which is his most appropriate class yet.:)
- By LindyLou [gb] Date 07.12.04 20:37 UTC
I'll be there on Saturday, if I remember to send the blasted form off. ;)

Will you be in the breed ring Nicky?
- By Smudgley [gb] Date 07.12.04 20:46 UTC
I'll be there Thursday & Saturday on the Guide dog stand.
- By Dawn-R Date 07.12.04 21:28 UTC
I'll be there on Gundog day with Jasmine, (Trunorth Pirouette). I've shown at Crufts many times before, but this time will be a bit special. Jasmine is the first I have bred so having her there feels like an achievement. I can't wait to see her name in print in the catalogue.:)

Think I'll just wait until the last minute on the last day and go BIS :D
- By munsters4ever [gb] Date 07.12.04 23:43 UTC
I dont know Linda, I might let Erin do the gang and just take a laid back approach to Crufts this time! I dont know if she would appreciate Kai though he is still a very happy go lucky boy!!!!!
- By G30ff [gb] Date 08.12.04 09:54 UTC
Ooooh I love afghans, can I come & see him please...... :)  I'll be there with me borders..... well 2 of 'em anyway..

I'm hoping to get there for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but that all depends. I'll definatly be there for one of the days though :)
- By pinklilies Date 08.12.04 17:26 UTC
lol@ G30ff! you will see plenty of afghans...usually got an entry of 240 ish. My boy is called Jahera Guardian Angel. I am thinking of wearing a pink lily on the day so I can be recognised!
- By Spook [gb] Date 08.12.04 10:23 UTC
I'll be there designated driver and dogsbody (no pun intended) leaving the handling to a pro....phew :D

Good luck to everyone at Crufts. I'm going on the terrier and hound day just as a spectator. If you see someone going gaga over the Borders, Deerhounds and Wolfhounds, that'll be me!

Hi, I'll be there too but I haven't decided if I dare to show Sam myself yet. He's my first show dog and I think the occasion may be too much for me (I get into enough of a state with him just at Open shows!). Cannot imagine what the atmosphere must be like at Crufts as an exhibitor. I need the loo just thinking about it! Don't know any handlers but there is a very nice girl at Ringcraft who I may try to bribe ....

If there's anyone "southern side" who's dogless and wants a Crufts challenge (and bless him, my mental monster is certainly that) then I have a Weim who wants to meet you :-D

Helen.
- By astonpride [gb] Date 11.12.04 22:39 UTC
Hi Helen i think you would be fine showing at crufts at the end of the day it is the same as the champ show you would have shown in to gain your qualification just enjoy it what tipe of dog do you have?

                      richard
- By Lollie [gb] Date 13.12.04 08:28 UTC
Hi Richard, well done on Saturday with your boy...so now you will have three at crufts. I'll be there on the sunday as well, with mad macy (bullmastiff).
Karen.
- By ice_queen Date 12.12.04 22:41 UTC
Helen, if you get your sekf into a state try investing in some rescue remedy to calm your nerves.  It is always more fun showing your own dog! and keep reminding yourself the bar is not far away!!!!

Go for it yourself, thens its YOUR achivement!  Better then anyone else showing and remember showing is FUN! :D

says the girl who will handle anyone's dog given half a chance, I was dropped on the head as a baby!!! ;)  But no, honest, it's always a better achivement if you show your dog rather then someone else showing it.  You can do it, will pom poms and cheerleading squad help?
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 12.12.04 21:29 UTC
I'll be there with Harry on the Friday, doing Discover Dogs. (It's just been confirmed with the club's organiser, whose list was eaten by one of her dogs and she's had to phone around to find out who she'd roped in ...)
- By liberty Date 12.12.04 21:37 UTC
See you there then JG, :D Ribena at the ready ;)

- By BorderCollieLvr [gb] Date 20.12.04 22:50 UTC
Im going to go on gundog day only to watch though. I better start saving money now for my big doggie spending spree
- By wintamagaik [gb] Date 21.12.04 09:08 UTC
I'll be there on the Working day with our bitch, but the other half will be taking her into the ring - my nerves would be too bad for me to do it!
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 21.12.04 21:14 UTC
Unfortunatley my breed is not allowed to step foot on the hallowed green carpets, but they will be there at Discover Dogs:d  So if anyone wants to say hello I'll be there with my Spanish Water Dogs, more than likely on the Saturday and Sunday.

Can't wait, I love Crufts.
- By munsters4ever [gb] Date 22.12.04 23:57 UTC
Will come and she your spanish water dogs as we are also doing discover dogs with the munsters and my other half likes the look of your dogs so he can meet them.
- By jennyb59 [gb] Date 23.12.04 00:05 UTC
Hi Di

If you want any help I'll be able to do Sunday, with either one or 2 of my girls, depending on whether or not Daisys come into season and been mated.
