WE are looking to buy a golden lab pup and would welcome any reputable kennels/breeders contacting us.

You could have a look on the Breeders Index here on Champdogs, if you are looking for a reputable breeder, you will need to contact them, not vice versa and before approaching any Breeders, may I point out that the correct term is a Yellow Labrador, as they may take a dim view if you ask for a Golden lab ;)

Agree with liberty...a reputable breeder will not contact you....they have no need to chase sales.

Contact the Labrador Retriever Club, website WWW.thelabclub.co.uk for a list of reputable breeders. Please do some reading up on inherited conditions like Hip Displasia etc, and fully inform yourself on the breed before purchasing a puppy. I would give this advice to anyone for any breed by the way.
Some people get confused between a Golden Retriever and a Labrador Retriever - they are two different breeds. Labradors come in three colours black, yellow and occasionally chocolate whereas Golden Retrievers come in just one colour - golden.
I might also add that it would be almost impossible to find a reputable breeder who is prepared to sell someone a puppy just before Christmas, so if that is your intention be prepared for some disappointment.

Hi,
Just wanted to say about colours of a Golden Retriever,
A Golden Retriever is ANY shade of GOLD or CREAM, neither red nor mahogany. So Goldens DO NOT just come in one colour it has an acceptable range of colour in the breed :-)
Briony, who has different shades of Golden Retrievers :-)

Hi Archer,
Yes I know, but Maxpant mentioned the colour of a Golden Retriever and I was just pointing out in general the accepted colours of a Golden Retriever :-D
Briony :-)
Hi Briony
I just wanted to keep it simple, and didn't want to confuse the poster any further.
