My bitch is usually a good mover at local shows, however long distance champ. shows seem to tire her and she becomes rather sluggish in the ring. I have tried keeping her exercise down to the minimum for a couple of days before the shows giving her extra food but have seen no improvement. Any ideas?

It may sound perverse but try not feeding from the night before a show. I assume that as she is OK at local shows it is not that she dislikes showing. If you give travel sick pills stop as they can cause drowsiness, and try to get her used to longer trips in the car. Try going to the show eariler and taking your bitch on a good walk before the show. Think I would feel rather flat if I had overeaten for a couple of days and not had enough exercise, that is if I weren't used to it :D
