I have 2 cavi's - one dog and one bitch - 11 mths and 13 mths respectively.  Want to get a Westie (bitch).  Will they get along ok?

Cavaliers are probably the best breed to have with another. I have only ever seen a couple that had been "off" with other dogs & one of them was abroad

As they roughly the same size as well there should be no problem, lots of cavalier people have other breeds like GSDs, Paps, Jap Chins, etc

If you can find a good healthy puppy go for it you will have your hands full but the older dogs will help with house training the little one

agree with moonmaiden........... mine love all dogs from next doors Jack Russell to my friends great dane.... now thats fun to watch...little and large romping round the garden

Would just like to point out that while smaller breeds are perhaps reasonably easy to have three running about in your home, please remember that not only are your existing two dogs still only youngsters and neither mentally nor physically mature but adding another puppy into the household in the near future is not only going to mean a tremendous amount of extra training and individual socialising etc., but also years down the line you will have three elderly dogs with very little age gaps between them - sort of sets you up for future heartache potentially one after t'other :(

Don't mean to be depressing - honest ;) - just something maybe worth considering along with all the other decisions to be made when buying a new puppy.

LOL Teri Cavaliers Never grow up so in your view will never be suitable to add another dog to ;) If the poster wants a qualitiy Wetsie they will not be able to get one without a wait of considerable time & I'm sure they will be aware of the fact they will have three elderly dogs at the same time, but what the poster wanted to know is would a westie be ok with the cavaliers & the answer is yes

Yes they will be Ok , I am answering from a Westie view.  I have a lab with my westies, and my family had various dogs with their westies over the years.
