Who are your favourite champions, from your chosen breed, currently hitting the international showscene?

Mine are...
ALASKAN MALAMUTES

1.) MULTI IN CH DAIKIBO NO YUKIMIGATA
2.) BIS BISS CH. ROYAL STAR DEL BIAGIO
3.) CH BARRENFIELDS MAJOR KNOCKOUT
4.) Mult BIS Am/can/Aust CH Terrapin's Caught 'N The Crossfire
5.) BISS AM/INT CH KASAANS FORTUNE PLAYER

....And I don't want to see any of them at Crufts! :D

...But just to add....if anyone is planning any breedings using these lines I'd love to know about it. I'm a bit disillusioned with UK matings at the minute, feel like the gene pool needs a boost. I'm dying to see Windbergs japanese litter all grown up and Northcoasts planned litter, it's quite exciting. When I'm abroad the first thing I notice is the difference in coat quality and temprement. I know a few folk have imported recently so it'll be interesting to see the impact (if any) on our breed standard. Pray to the God of perfect tails/teeth :D

But Spook, you can get perfect teeth, tails and temprement if you know where to look :)

Edited to change name :D

That's a bit wistful and depends on your idea of perfect :D Some people's idea of a perfect head can be a pinhead to others. Some peoples idea of of a bad temprement can be somebody elses breed dominance. :)

No, not wistful at all Spook, just true :)

Maybe you are looking at the wrong breeders ? There *are* bad tails, pin heads and dominance in the UK malamutes as you well know, but only in some kennels and there are some overseas kennels with bad traits as well :)

Possibly that is why some breeders are bringing in new blood, to improve their own stock, I don't know :)

I have only been actually in the breed for 3 years and I am humble enough to realise that I know very little :) Or, of course, you may have been in the Mal world for 10 years or something ..... :p :p

Then of course, I don't have any particular affiliation with any overseas friends either ;) :D

The original post was to list 5 champs. Meant to be light hearted, but would've emphasised my point as I'm sure your top 5 would not be my top 5 and vice versa, showing individual preferrences.

I doubt the breeders I'm involved with would appreciate that initial comment. And the latter goes without saying.

I don't know who you think you're dealing with but the last comments are quite obviously personal attacks/slurs.

There was no slur, it was a question, thats why I said 'possibly':)  I have no idea who the breeder you are refering to is Spook. I do know Jayne of Windberg kennels and love the look of her latest pups and I am hardly likely to cast a slur on her :)

You obviously have an axe to grind so I will bow out gracefully :)

As it was you who failed to reply to the original posts and completely diverted I say the axe grinder title is debatable. There is nothing graceful about your exit either

when you use the term "pinhead" what do you mean?  I am intresed to know...
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 05.12.04 21:11 UTC
Just a small head :) On Malamutes, the last thing to grow is often the head ...

kool thanks :) I am now one word wiser :D
