Can anyone tell me about this dog I would love to know about him. He fetures in all my dogs pedigree's and I love finding out about their realitives. I have done a internet search on him and cant find much, I suppose because he didnt have a specific affix to his name, I do not know the reason for this. I do however know that he was owned by Mrs Griffiths, I would love to know his real name, how many cc's, litters he sired, temprement, working ability and just if he was a nice dog, I understand he has sadly died but it will be intresting to know.

The other dog that is provong illusive is Riversflight Aire who I understand was also owned and bred by Mrs Griffiths and the dog Riversflight Wavney who I have been researching about using on one of my bitches obviously when she is older and I have permission from all breeders concerned. Any infomation about this dog would prove very useful I have seen him from a distance and I have found out he was the FCR used in the Pedigree 2004 calander! Brilliant!

Anyway if anyone can let me know any details about any of these dogs I would be most grateful,

Try doing a search on this site for Riversflight going back around 300 days.  There was a very interesting thread on exactly this subject in March but I don't know how to link direct to this - sorry.  If you have no luck let me know and I'll copy the relevant bits!!  It's fascinating researching pedigrees isn't it.

You are lucky having three flatcoats, we have only one at the moment but hope to have another next year (and then another I expect!!).

I was very privileged to know Ch Tom Thumb extremely well.   He had no affix because his breeder (Mrs C Young) did not have one at that time.  By the time Jean thought about adding "of Riversflight" to his name he already had his stud book number and it was too late.

Tom was an absolute star.  Wonderful temperament and very very very sound.  His soundness has been passed on to his children and grandchildren.  My bitch Ch Deep River Walk of Downstream is a grand daughter of his.

Tom won 6 CCs (I think) -some is bound to correct me if I am wrong.  He was a full champion and he did actually work.  Peter (Jean's late husband) did run him in a few field trials but he was not 100% steady on a heavy drive!  However he was a great game finder.  He has also passed this on.

Of all Jean's lovely dogs Tom was my favourite.  He was such a character.  A showman and a gentleman.  I miss hearing about his antics even now.

Just to re-iterate what Becky said about Tom - he was a lovely dog and a perfect gentleman.    Jean's husband, the late Peter Griffiths, used to work him, and had held him in some great esteem.

He is in quite a lot of Caroline Young's pedigrees, as she bred back to him  (I think he was the sire of her Brightstar Georgie Porgie)
