Sounds like you've got one very lucky puppy dog on your hands. :)

I would think something like chicken & rice, extremely small amounts would be ok to start, or a good convelesent diet is Selected protein veterinanry diet avavilable from your vet.(It is nice & mushy & is full of good nourishmennt for dogs recovering from D# or post op dogs)

Tohme is very knowledgable on all aspects of feeding, I'm sure she'll advise if she spots the post.

good luck with your pup & keep us posted. :)

thank you for replying is there any special way i should prepare the chicken and rice? just boil the ck in water and is minute rice ok?

I wrote a long post explaining the while mess but i pushed the wrong button and it was all erased let  just say after 4 vet vist in 5 days shes doing great!!!  and 2 days ago it got so bad we took her in to the vet to put her to sleep. But the vet want to try things called saddle bags where they put fluid under the skin. she was to small for IV. So we continued  giving her 1/2 cc every of pedlite 30 minutes for 2 day (that makes for a really long night LOL) and slowy inceasing it to 3cc and she drinks some from her bowl. Now the only problem is we really think she needs to eat ,ofcourse she's so tiny now. I know this was probaly a bad thing to do but my husband gave her a little turkey lunch meat to smell and she went crazy. So we have contined giving her little bits but i would like to find something else she will eat.

Also her teeth have became so long, the 2 long ones on top that were once normal are so long now that they scrape together when she eats or drinks. Any thoughts on this? the vet won't open till tomorrow.

Will she eventually grow to be a normal size or will her growth be stunted now?

sorry for so many questions

thank you

Sounds like she's lucky to be alive. Obviously a fighter. I would boil the rice & roast or boil the chicken.

I would try not to worry about other issues like her teeth & her adult size, try to focus on building up her strength & getting her well for now. you can worry about other issues later.

hows she doing today?
