i am so worried my dog had a litter of 8 two and half weeks ago they were all doing great until i started giving my dog calcium tablets on tuesday night since then she has been constantly sick and had diarrheao
i took her to the vets this morning and he gave her a antibiotics injection and three lots of medicine and told me not to feed her today i am worried not only for her but the puppies do i let them feed off her still
the vets says if shes ok with it but surely it will take more out of her
id be grateful for any advice please thank you

I wouldn't give extra calcium unless she was showing signs of deficiency. It only causes problems, as you are finding out. Be guided by the vet, but keep a close eye on her.

I would certainly let the pups feed from the bitch for as long as she's happy to do so (unless your vet specifically forbids it). If you take them away from her suddenly, especially at this stage of high milk production, you run a very serious risk of her developing mastitis.

As long as the food you're giving her is top quality she won't need any supplements. Hope she gets better quickly.

I have been feeding her chicken and rice, chicken necks, steak and kidney, puppy formula and everything
im so upset because she looked great before the calcium tablets but the vet said he couldnt be sure it was them that caused it but i also have the stud dog and he has been eating the same as her because i didnt want to leave him out and he is fine
i havent given her antibiotics and she hasnt been sick for a few hours now so i hope that is a good sign, the pups are feeding from her still so im hoping everything will be ok
