Hi everyone

Just wondered if other dogs do this?  Whenever other dogs are on television, my 5 month old whippet gets really excited and watches the tv like a hawk!  Is that weird?

No, it isn't weird. Storm, my GSD bitch does the same. Her head goes from side to side while she's watching them. She nearly knocks the t.v of the cabinet if they start to bark though, she thinks they're barking at her, LOL.

Hi
When my GSD bitch was a puppy she used to watch dogs on tv then try to get around the back of it to see where they were it was really funny! now she just watches it and moves her head from side to side if dogs bark. Its really lovely to watch her.

Mine do the same only problem is, if there is a knock at the door on tv i have three boxers charging towards my door and i find myself telling them, that its on the tv no one is here lol

My dog used to watch cartoons avidly. He also enjoyed QVC shopping channel ( very sad!). Once he cottoned on to his reflection not being another dog he could play with, he seemed to lose interest in dogs on TV and just slumped on his bed watching it with the kids! Id advise caution with little dogs watching too much telly in case they start yelping " Can we video this?" when you want to go for a walk. :D

LOL Polly, mine also do this :D

My two come running when they hear dogs on telly, babies, doors being knocked, cats, children, wildlife etc.  They get quite upset if a baby cries on tv for too long without being comforted - bless :D :D

My cat loves wildlife programmes about birds, she even has to control herself when there are closeups otherwise it's embarrassing for her when she jumps at the tv :D

My old Shepherds that I used to have, loved to watch the film, the Incredible Journey :D

They would sit glued to it for as many times as I cared to watch it on satellite, laying down next to one another with their heads on one side, brings a lump to my throat just thinking about them :)
