I was just wondering when is the best age to breed a Chihuahua? I want my little girl to have pups but i just wondered what age is best to breed her.

If you don't know that why are you breeding her? It is one of the basics of breeding so I would do alot more research before even attempting to breed from her.

Guest asked when was the best age to breed, I think the fact they are asking the right questions shows that they are keen to learn, thats a good thing isnt it? , :-)

Guest, the best age to breed from your dog is when she is completely physically and mentally mature (breeds differ but usually 2-3 years old) when you are sure she is an outstanding example of her breed, and when she has had all the relevant health checks done for her breed.

Good luck :-)

With Chis there is another extremely important question - what size is she?  Some Chi bitches are simply too small to breed from safely.  You have to remember that Chis come in quite a range of sizes within a litter.  You need expert advice from your bitches breeder about the size of her close relatives too.  Breeding a tiny Chi bitch will at best mean a  C section, at worst lost of the bitch.
