I must be getting old

I was at work today and heard an old lady arguing outside the shop. A young lad (about 7 or 8) had lifted a cover off a large hole and was making a ramp for his bike, using 4 old lemonade crates, so that he could jump over the hole. This was in a pedestrian precinct. The way he was going he wouldn't be able to see if anyone was coming around the corner, and would have hit anyone coming about chest height, if they were(n't) lucky! He gave this woman a mouthful of cheek. I went out and moved the 'ramp' (it was right outside the shop.) He gave me a mouthful. I tried to be diplomatic, barely keeping my temper, but only received a mouthful of abuse myself. The police were called, the boy disappeared, naturally, and the police put the cover back. The lad came back and gave the police a right mouthful. They took him home!

It's been a long time since I felt like giving someone a clout round the ear, but this lad came very close. ;)

Hopefully when he got home thats exactly what he got from his mother. But I very much doubt it. She probably gave the police more abuse than her son did :( :(
Well done for sticking to him tho :)

I agree mattie, although there are times it can be down to who the kids hang around with.

My son (15) is one gobby little toe rag. No matter how many times he's grounded, t.v, DVD, PS2 removed from his room, taken back to apologise for being rude to adults, he will still argue the toss. :(

I suppose we give them too much even my grandaughters room here has PS2 television, video etc...
I have always been able to take my children and grandaughter anywhere without embarrasing behaviour but admit that in some cases children are just plain hyper and feel sorry for the parents of those.
Now  it seems you can be jailed for smacking children all i can say is they better build some more jails as I see children being hit quite a lot in supermarkets etc.. I used to have a friend donkeys years ago who had the kid from hell and she used to realy lay into him he just used to bounce back up and laugh my Mother used to say you can knock the devil into them by violence last I heard he was a barrister :)

There's times mattie, I could cheerfully throttle my kids!

I now say to my kids when they're 'performing' while I'm out with them, 'If you wish to embarass me by your behaviour, I WILL embarass you more'

Usually calms them down ;)

Apparently the old lady had given this young lad a clip round the ear ;) So had an elderly man who argued with him after I'd gone back into the shop.

When the police turned up the lad told them that the man had hit him. The policeman's words? "Don't you think you deserved it?" :D
