Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Showing with stains?

Would anyone here take a dog to a show if they had a bad stain on their leg? I have my bitch entered for the LKA but am having no luck removing a stain on her leg. I have tried everything including bicarbonate of soda, whitening shampoo etc but nothing seems to work. It is a stain from where she has been licking at her leg. Should I not bother taking her as I am sure she will be ignored by the judge because of this. At the moment I am washing the area twice a day with shampoo and bicarbonate of soda and then putting some anti chew deterrent on it. I am at a loss as to how to remove it.

I would imagine most judges will be less aware of it thzan you and are unlikely to penalise her for such a cosmetic reason, unless they are presentaion mad.

My Champion bitch licks her paw every so often, and turns it orange.  She does it sporadically so applying anti chew only works in stopping it getting worse.  She usually does it after it has been nice and clean for a while, usually on the way to a champ show, sods law.  Doesn't appear to have affected her show success, or maybe she would have done even better, who knows. :D

Take her and enjoy the show :D

Take her, she shouldn't be knocked for it.

There is something you can use but I have no-idea what it is.  I wouldn't worry about it, just prevent her from doing any more and enjoy the show!

E-mail me and I might just be able to advise you on using something very simple, it works with many stains :d  My e-mails in my profile.
