Greetings,
I wanted to chat with a breeder with a view to asking a few questions first. We have resisted the urge to buy a dog for several years now but being settled and with kids, the time has come to bight the bullet. I lived in Australia for 13 years and was always impressed with friend's dogs.
My questions are about suitability with a 3 and 6 year old, I also want a dog that will watch the property but with confidence that's not 'snappy'. Also how's the breed as far as allergies are concerned?

Any advice would be much appreciated. We are intending to add this new member to the family in the new year sometime.

What breed? :D As a guest you can only ask one question, any other s will be deleted by Admin so I suggest that you Register with us, it is free :) It could be that you are talking about native Australian breeds , but then we are not sure whether that would be the Cattle dog, the Shepherd, the silky or the terrier ;)

I wonder if the guest is asking about any breeds in general ?

Australian Shepherds are actually American;) ! not a native Australian breed, the sheepdogs they have are border collies(also called header dogs)& the kelpies
