hi im after some advice i took my bitch to be mated she stood quite willing tail flagging she is day 13 blood has got lighter red than before, the stud dog mounted her and seemed to get on and off numerous times with only few thrusts at a time even when he got going a bit more they just didnt tie atall, he seemed really keen but hardly hit the spot, almost got over excited,and am not sure if stud has done the job or not, he didnt show any interest untill couple of days ago, bitch has been willing to stand for a few days now, she gave a little cry occasionally but still stood for him, she has been mated before resulting in two 20 mins tie but failed to conceive, im just not sure what to do now, surely if she isnt quite ready and although standing they would have resulted in a tie, if anyone could offer me some advice that would be great thanks

Hi Guest, could you take your bitch back again on Monday. It's common practice to have two or more matings a couple of days apart.

Didn't the stud dog have a handler to ensure he did hit the spot? sometimes they need a bit of help. It is essential that there is a handler for each dog/bitch to avoid injury to either one.
