hello! I've got a puppy bichon frise, he is almost 4 months old, and he has these tearstains. do you know how to get rid of them?I have tried Johnson's tearstain remover, but it doesn't help at all, plus the smell is very strong.
Can you give me advice?
Thanks

Galina

hi guest............if you wash the area and then rub fairly dry, press bicarbonate of soda into the fur and work it in and leave it,keep repeating this about twice daily and you should start to see results after a few days.Has a vet had a look at the dogs eyes ? it could be a problem called entropian where the bottom eye rim may have a few stray lashes growing inward,it is an easy proccedure to correct most times. If it is smelly then obviously there is some form of bacteria present to cause the smell,i think it would be wise to see your vet in case the underlying skin needs treating too.
hope all goes well
