i was hoping p'haps pauline or any hound people could help me with my question.
My  beagle had been under the weather,he's now fine but he has lost the beautiful brown rim around his eye,(used to look like eyeliner)Since being ill it has become very pale,and hasn't returned.I was hoping to show him in the new year.
In your experience do you think it will return and if not will it count against him,He has lovely brown eyes anyway and we're starting in companion shows but i thought i would ask.thankyou for any help you can give me .

The beagle breed standard just asks for brown or hazel eyes, fairly large, not deep set or prominent. It doesn't matter about the rim around them, i have two beagles and one has really dark eyeliner and the other one is pale.  I wouldn't worry about it, you certainly won't be marked down for it. Hope you enjoy showing.

Hiya guest.........as "beagle" says it shouldn't make any difference,however i have used denes kelp tablets to help with pigmentation as aftel whelping some bitches can go more charcoal than black and find it helps in most cases.Like you i love the "eyeliner" look.
where are you going to show? maybe we can meet up ?
