See you there!!
I think its a show you either love or hate. Its crowded, expensive, hectic etc.Its much more geered to the public than the exhibitors BUT the atmosphere is fantastic.

Nikki,
Sorry, should have said, have been as a member of the public, but not as an exhibitor as we didn't qualify last year.

Ahhh...well you know all about it then.Wish I had been as a spectator before I tried showing there...been 2 years and still haven't managed to have a look round yet!!
Archer

You have to go for two days for that :) One day shopping, one day showing, stay in a hotel overnight..........perfect :)
Sandra

Ah but its better when you don't live too far away and you have two days showing, 2 days shopping and you can then cover NEARLY everything!

We were quick this year Gwen and book the Novotel for a nice treat. Aparently you get a good breakfast and just a quick dash over the car park :-) infact we should go set up then come back for breakfast. This is my 5th year of going and although qualifying for the last 3 this will be my first actually showing. :-)

Not got mine yet, but the post which says you "love it or hate it" made me smile. My elder bitch doesnt really like showing, although she is a regular member in the Breeders Stakes which she seems to enjoy, probably because she is "part of a crowd". But she LOVES Crufts (yes, wierd I know) - and its because ringside is always crowded and she says hello to everyone as she moves along the line! Personally I hate it, but then its the one place you have to go!

I will be there for the 4 days we have booked the caravan into a park 10 mins away at Meriden, we will be briinging the America dog to do the Tibetan Mastiff Club stand hope some come and introduce yourselves

its not Silly at all...my Asa LOVES the NEC...he shows his little socks off there. In the 3 times we've shown there hes had 2nd at crufts, then 2 wins with 2RCC at crufts and LKA...so must be his fav venue!!

Some of us don't have the pleasure of stepping onto those green carpets :d
Awwwwwwww,
Those green carpets can be awfully slippy for the dogs...
I 've been there 3 times as an exhibitor and next year will be my 4th.
The first time I ever qualified I got 2nd in a large Puppy bitch class, behind a big known breeder, afterwards I had another
international judge come and find me to say he thought that my bitch should have won!! That made my day!! :D
You can hear on the video my mum saying 'is that good?' when all of my other friends are in tears....
The only downside is that we had no critique that year :(
Since then we've had no luck in placings perhaps next year will be different....
When I go as a spectator I do my shopping, watch some of my breed's judging and go home early beating the
awful jams from the car parks, it's a pleasurable day :D
When I'm an exhibitor I find it extremely stressful, very proud to show off my girl, but hate having to stay all day
and then the queques from the car parks on the way home. Also it's nigh on impossible to do any shopping unless
you do it first thing before the judging commences.
See so there can be benefits not showing at Crufts :D

I do get to do Discover Dogs though so I can't complain really, can I? No must admit I do love Crufts. Fingers crossed that my mum's Pomeranian puppy comes out well as she's beautiful at the moment but it's still early days. Just hope that she follows after her dad as he did wel in the show ring until he developed an ear infection winning a couple of res. cc's. She's already got his mad character and she's only his second puppy and he's now 7 !! He did nothing as a pup as he was very immature but did well once he was 14 months.
