hello all im new to the board but can already see it mite become addictive lol anywayz the ques i wanted 2 ask is would it be ok 2 have 3 staffys in the same household iv had one before but she was an only dog. would it b better 2 get 2 dogs and 1 bitch or vice versa and is it best to keep separated at night i realise that sometimes they are not to good with other dogs but have always been my favourite and my staffy bitch was terrific with all dogs and people.

i have 3 staffords
but i would never say get 2 dogs
i would go with 2 bitches and 1 dog
like i have
and yes i would keep them separate as when the bitches come in season it will be easier if they are used to not sleeping together

I hope your not thinking of buying 3 young dogs all at the same time because if you are its a recipe for disaster.I would start with one of whichever sex and then leave at least 18 months before introducing no 2.By then no 1 will be socialised and trained(hopefully). Then leave another 18 months+ before the next one.Two pups together is 4x the work so three would be nearly impossible. You also need time to bond with each individually and you won't do it if they're all pups.
Personally I would go with 2 bitches rather than 2 dogs but you need to bear in mind that if bitches take a dislike to each other which can happen at any age and however well they have previously got on they do not forgive and forget and you would have to keep them seperated if the worst case happened if not they would have to be constantly supervised when together

i would agree with Archer with saying that if bitches do fall out then they are harder work then dogs. bitches do not forget and could hate each other for the rest of there lives, were dogs can fall out and be fine 5 mins later

We used to have 2 jr bitches together, and they lived until they were both eighteen years old, but for the whole eighteen years they had a love hate relationship, and when they fought they would go for the kill. One time a fight broke out at the top of the stairs, they fell all the way down STILL hold of each others neck and really going for it. Once we managed to part them they would go in different ways for a couple of hours, then the next thing they would be cuddled up in front of the fire. They could not live together but they definatly could not live apart.
