is this a new breed of dog?
saw an advert for cavalocker pups (cavalier x cocker) the breeder says they are a new breed, they are selling them for £350 is this right or am I being spun a yarn?

Just another breed of X breed.

No, it is not a new breed, it is a fancy name given to a crossbreed (mongrel) so that the "breeder" can charge a lot of money for puppies from dogs which are probably non health tested poor quality animals.

O eerrm never heard of this sorry to say but id class them as mongrels . for £350 thats a pretty hight amount to pay isent it . I bet the mother and father wasent hip scored or eye tested .
which means they could have all sorts of problems . find a reputable breeder :) of one or the other breed  www.thecockerspanielclub.co.uk I dont know what the cav one is sorry someone else might ,
But honistly id really save splashing out on one of these ,if you decide on going to get one anyway make sure both parents are health tested I doubt they will be . I wouldent bother :)

It's not a new breed, it's a crossbreed, and as such shouldn't cost more than about £150. I bet the parents aren't checked clear of hereditary eye or heart disease either, are they? Both breeds involved are prone to these.

Plus the genetic conditions they do not share like slipping patellas, SM etc

badly bred cockers can get PRA which is a eye problem and Hd  a hip problem . but reputable breeders test for these like they do with most other breeds Wouldent say there prone . Ive not seen too many cockers with heart conditions . but most cavs have some kind of heart murmer

< most cavs have some kind of heart murmer  >

To be correct some cavaliers have heart murmurs as do lots of dogs of breeds & non breeds. They do have Mitral Valve Disease which should not be confused with heart murmurs
