Is there anywhere I can buy treats for my dogs in bulk, at present I buy
pedigree rancho's etc from supermarkets & pet shops. As I give them one each day its getting a bit expensive.
Would I be welcome to join champdogs, as I have cross bred dogs my self.
I thought maybe I could get some useful advice from more experiended dog owners. Jill.

Anybodies welcome...as long as they love dogs! People on here own all shapes and sizes of dogs from pet cross breeds to some of the best show dogs ....we do all sorts of things from showing and agility to 'just' pets.

Haven't seen Ranchos for sale in bulk but there are plenty of other treats available here http://www.edirectory.co.uk/pf/pages/default.asp?mt=Category&senc=IIAXBBDHEXB (sorry - links not working for me!)  :-)

Hi, hope to see you as a member soon, everyone's welcome! :)  Instead of the expensive treats, why not try making your own Liver cake as a treat for your dogs-they love it!  Thanks to tohme for this recipe which I use!:

8ozs Liver
4ozs S/R Flour
2 Eggs
2 Cloves Garlic

Put all the ingredients into a blender until the mixture is smooth, pink and runny;  Pour into greased swiss roll type baking tin and place in the oven [Gas Mark 4/180C] for around 30-40 minutes.
Leave to cool and cut into bite size pieces.

Hopefully see you soon! :)

I often use dried meat pieces from the pet shop, they are small to very small and come in a sack, but you only buy as much as you need ingredients :- pure dried meat ;)

If you want to make your own treats, you can make pilchard cake, cheese cake, tuna cake etc. in addition to liver cake.
