Are there any other bassbarr mals on this site? Buffys dam was kebucks kystal clear sire was bassbarr kalunraq, it would be nice to get in touch with any of her brothers and sisters as things are a little lonely this end of the country (Bournemouth). The only person I know of with mals is Jacquie (Myatuck), and she is quite a few miles away from where I live

Hi Slayer,

My bitch Tikaani is a Bassbarr Mal.
Her Sire is also Kalunraq but her dam is Bassbarr Keepsake (daughter of Kebucks Krystal Klear).I've emailed you a pic.
Paul Tutty's (BRODAN) foundation bitch is also of Bassbarr lines. His details are under Mal breeders on this site.

Do you show your Mal?
We will be at The Welsh Kennel Club Champ Show in August.
They have breed classes, and Tikaani is entered in PuppyDog/Bitch and Junior Bitch on the 17th.
Will anyone else from the board be there?

Jessie

is it Bassbarr Kennels that are moving to Italy ?? I may have this wrong

Paul
- By Naomi [gb] Date 07.05.02 12:41 UTC
Bill O'Loughlin also has kennels in Italy. He is apparently going back to Italy to live but i'm not sure how much truth is in it.

Hi Paul,
Yes Bill is definately moving back to Italy. He took a trip over on the 1st of May and will be moving over now on the 9th, but some of his stock will be kept in this Country by a friend of his.
Apparently he has moved back and forth from Italy a few times, so he may not be gone for good.....watch this space!

That would explain his interest in the bracco then
- By Naomi [gb] Date 08.05.02 09:11 UTC
How many breeds does he have? Bassets, Bull terriers, mals any others?
- By Lou [gb] Date 08.05.02 10:23 UTC Upvotes 1
Had a quick look on the website and he doesn't seem to have any others, but why (and how) so many??
- By jessie [gb] Date 08.05.02 15:22 UTC Upvotes 1
Bill O'Loughlin has been in Basset Hounds for 36 years. He Judges at championship shows all over the world inc. Crufts. More recently he has gone into the other breeds- I know he's been in Malamutes for approx 6-7 years.
As for other breeds, he has a Neopolitian Masiff as a guard dog and several cats and a couple of horses, but I think thats about it!

Wow - he must be one busy man! :)

I am sorry if my post offended you Jessie :( I really didn't mean for it to come out as it did. I was only asking what breeds he had as I had seen three on the web site plus the Bracco was being mentioned.

Hi everyone glad to hear there are quite a few of us around, I had also heard Bill was moving back to Italy. As to other breeds I know when we went up to see him a couple of years ago I commented on likeing Akitas as well as Mals and low and behold out he trotted with his Akita Whom he had bred just one litter from at that time. I suppose the saying is true "don't keep all your eggs in one basket". Does anyone know of any other mal owners down south it would be nice to know I'm not totally on my own.
Jessie: Tikanni is gorgeous. Keep in touch

Hi Naomi,
Im not offended in any way! Bill O'Loughlin is the breeder of my pup and thats as far as my association with him goes....but I must say that he has been very supportive and has provided all the necassary after sales care that i have needed.
I think Bill has had a run of bad luck as late, but he has produced some outstanding dogs, Bassbarr Kool Kustomer at Chayo (Tiko)for one is a prime example (not to mention my baby!!!.LOL)
And Tiko's offsping is currently doing very well (Chayo Blue Thunder)at championship level as you know.
I'm very excited about our upcoming shows....frightened to death in fact....so I may be bugging you in the future for hints and tips if thats OK.
See you soon at ringcraft

Jessie

P.S. Tikaani has come into season this week, thats why I wasn't in class tonight...but we'll see you soon.Well done and good luck for all your future events
Speak to you soon.

Hi there,
Bassbarr Keep Hoping is Jessies Mal and that is her web site. I also live just outside Cardiff and have a mal. Where are you meeting Jessie? Are you coming to ringcraft? If so, I'll see you there on Wednesday.
Bye for now,
Naomi

If I have read this the wrong way and it isn't Jessie that your meeting, why don't you come along to Ringcraft on Wednesday anyway. Its at Bassaleg village hall near Machen just off junction 28 on the M4.

It's 7 - 9 pm although we turn up at around 7.30. It's match night this week (on the 12th). Classes are the second and forth Wednesday of the month. Enter your mal, its good fun and only costs £1 (an expensive night out). Everyone is really friendly and you can get loads of help if you are going to show her. You, Jessie and I will have to sit in different corners though incase WW3 breaks out  . Tikanni and Kiera weren't exactly friendly the last time they met.
- By jessie [gb] Date 07.06.02 21:20 UTC
Hi Naomi and Neil,

I'll definately be at ringcraft on Wednesday as our first show is looming and we need all the help we can get!

So I'll see you there (It is great fun if you can make it Neil).
Speak to you soon

Jessie
PS I'll bring along a couple of muzzles just in case! LOL ;-)

Shame he doesn't seem to show any other interest in Mals except for breeding. He doesn't work them or show them and is not a member of the breed club :(
- By Freeway [gb] Date 12.05.02 10:56 UTC Upvotes 1
He also has GBGVs.
