Hi again,
I will be glad when I finally get the 'Give Your Dog a Bone' book! I have just brought a fresh mackeral fish (minus head). Does the book indicate it is ok to feed raw fish. My instincts say yes - just a little bit apprehensive re: the bones, although of course I am feeding her chicken wings etc., but when you are still fairly new to the BARF diet and do not have that book to reassure......!!!
Please would you let me know.
Grateful to you,
Denise.

Hi Denise
I feed raw sardines, ungutted with the heads on!
In the book he says if you feed a lot make sure it's the whole fish - eyes and entrails as well and supplement with Vitamin E. It is recommended not to feed a lot but make it part of a mixed diet. He particularly mentions sardines but mackerel is an oily fish too so you are providing some of the omega 3 essential fatty acids.
Enjoy! - don't forget the head next time :)

Hi Nicolla,
Maybe the fish in question was not much of a 'looker'!!!
Denise.
