Here i am showing my domestic skills - not :D

Does anyone have any tips on washing net curtains? I want to get them really clean and white as they are to be honest a bit grubby :(
I know we were always told to soak them in the bath with that Glo white stuff and keep them folded nicely so they could be hung on the line without getting creased; has anyone any better method?

I would love to chuck them in the machine on a handwash cycle but would that ruin them?

Am grateful as always for Champdoggers help!!

Denture cleaner cleans them I think I read somewhere.... :) Fold the curtains up and put them into a washing up bowl which has had a solution of denture cleaner made up in it.

Leave them to soak and then lift out :)

I wash mine by hand and you can buy a net whitener in tesco's.   Before I put mine in this solution (which you mix with water) I fold my curtains neatly and that stops them from getting too creased and put them in the solution to soak (can't remember how long.....it gives instrutions on packet).

(Wanders away thinking: "I wonder which is best, denture cleaner or net whitener.....?" ) LOL.

I wash mine in a biological washing powder. When they start going to 'chewing gum white' I just buy new one's, lol.

I wash mine in the washing machine on cold wash in daz liquid, they are in excellent condition and are nearly 9 years old now.

I used to pop mine in the washing machine too on a cold wash, they always came up lovely, though once hubby was being helpful whilst I was busy working and took them out of the washing machine and popped them in the tumble dryer when he took them out they were fit for a dolls house :-D he sheepishly came into the office and showed me his mornings work, I couldn't be cross he had tried to be helpful after all.  Haven't had nets for years now, but I'm sure that hubby wouldn't offer to wash them again. :-D

I always put mine in the washing machine on the handwash cycle, then hang them back up while they are wet to drip dry.   I put a bath towel under them to catch the drips.    :)

Yep, mine go in the washing machine and I hang them up while wet too

mine go in washer too and come out slightly damp so i iron wet and hang up straight away-great

I fold mine and soak in a solution of Milton baby bottle sterilizer, them hang them up damp to drip dry.
