How old does a puppy have to be before it can be imported into UK please?

9 months or older

Only if you want to avoid quarrantine briedog, you can bring in puppies from 12 weeks and probably earlier but they would have to spend 6 months in quarrantine.

As I understand it, a pregnant bitch can come into a quarantine kennel, have the puppies and when no longer needed by the puppies, return home. The puppies, having been born in this country can come straight out of quarantine without having to spend any more time in there.

We imported a puppy from the USA in 2002 at 9 weeks of age, and he spent 6 months in quarantine.

If using the Pet Passport Scheme the timings for innoculations and blood tests are such that a dog would have to be a minimum of 10 months old.
