Does anyone know any Kooikerhonje breeders in England?

If you'd left contact details I could have told you of someone who might know ....

Out of interest JG, what is a Kookerhonje? In my ignorance, I have never heard of this breed before. :)

They're a Dutch tolling breed, that look like this and this. I think they're great!

Pat Chapman, "Shargleam Flatcoats" started importing them shortly before she died. A friend had one around that time but after that I lost track of the breed. I believe it went into the duldrums for a while after Pat's death and don't really know how many there is in the country now.

Regards, John

The Kooikerhondje is an ancient breed originating from the Netherlands - they were thought to be an ancestor of the present day Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - they stand 14-16 inches  high and are white with clear orangey red patches and long ear fringes. they were originally bred to lure ducks but are now companion dogs. They are generally a friendly, happy breed although can be quarellsome with other dogs

I did have a contact for the breed club in this country but can't find it at the moment - try a yahoo search for the breed or contact the Kennel Club for details of breeders in this country.

The contact for the Breed Club is at the bottom of the Breed Standard - the second of the links in my previous post.
