my wife and I were supposed to be going to see some cocker spaniel puppies today but when we rang the breeder to make sure it was still ok to come and see them, he said he would meet us instead as he was very busy.
We asked if we could go tomorow instead so we could see the parents but he said he thinks they will all be sold by then.
We would really like to see the pups with the mother but it seems if we didnt go today that was our only chance.
he said he could deliver us a puppy but I am worried incase it is not what we are looking for, would I be obliged to buy it as we live quite a long way away from the breeder?

This is standard practice for puppy farmers you will likely end up with a very poor standard puppy I would recommend contacting the Cocker Spaniel Club who will put you in touch with a breeder who complies with their code of ethics.

Steer well clear. No reputable breeder will sell you a puppy without having met you. This is a typical ploy by dealers who trade in farmed puppies shipped in from God knows where.

There are plenty of good litters out there. Don't touch this with a barge pole.

Avoid like the plague!  He's trying to avoid you seeing the awful conditions that the dogs are kept in!
Email Jane - shenmore@yahoo.co.uk.  Tell her where in the country you live and I'm sure she'll point you in the right direction of a puppy who will be pleasure, not a liability to your family.

If you left contact details people would be able to contact you.

But like everybody has said, avoid these people like the plague, you'll probably end up meeting them on the motorway with a puppy out the back of a van!!  You really do need to see the parents and check all the relevant health checks have been done ask to see the results on paper and also that if you were told they were KC registered check that they are or will be.

Good luck

I agree sounds like a puppy farmer . often they will deliver pups . you will probably end up payin the same price as a good quality pup so dont let the farmers rip you off contact the cocker spaniel club . not only would you get a bad quality cocker but they dont do health checks so you could end up with some big vets bills on your hands if your not careful .
when looking for a new breeder ask if there eye tested hip scored . you also want kc reg . You might hear someone say there doglover reg instead > > you want a kc reg :)
Good luck in finding a quality pup
