Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Burns lack of oil

I read a post earlier where I think someone mentioned that there wasnt a lot of oil in Burns which seems to be the only criticism.  Does anybody have any ideas of how to add extra oil i.e. adding cod liver oil etc etc

Ideas greatly received.

The food Abby is on doesnt have a lot of oil in it vet told us to give evening primrose oil and green lip mussel you can get both at health food shop a lot cheaper than at vets.

Try www.zipvit.co.uk they are very cheap and some of the products state dosage for a dog. But they are very helpful if you are not sure.

Food:   Chicken or other poultry skin [mainly omega 6];  tinned fish such as pilchards, sardines etc [mainly omega 3]

Oils:     Olive oil [all but mainly omega 9]

Supplements:   Omega 3 fish oils[omega 3]  Evening Primrose oil [omega 6]

This should provide a good balance of the various oils.    I am surprised if Burns does not contain enough oil or at least as much as other commercial foods.
