Hi Deb, Im Chris (Houndgirl) I have 7bassets and 2 mini long Dachshunds , and i am a member of the Midlands Branch of the Basset hound Club. I live in South Staffs and enjoy taking part in Basset walks, fun days and showing my Bassets. I have had the breed for some 20years and still enjoy saying to people  "Bassets are not my whole life but make my life whole" . How many bassets have you got and in what area of the country do you come from? regards Chris

Hi basset mum
Just to say welcome to the forum :) Myself and 'Deb' (whom I know won't mind me saying ;) ) are newbie basset owners and certainly haven't got the inclination, time and most importantly - the necessary years of experience and knowledge regarding breeding. There are other members - Owl and Houndgirl who would be far more experienced and may be able to assist you with your questions.
Not sure if this is your first time dealing with such a mammoth responsibility, but if you search the Breeding section on this site, you'll find lots of general advice as well as many members suggesting the purchase of "The Book of the Bitch" by J Evans & K White.
Forgive me if you have previous experience - just trying to offer what ever I can for Stitch as this time in her life. ;)
Good Luck & really hope all goes well.
Jo
