My GSD has been behaving a bit out of character.  She is always very affectionate, suffers slightly from separation anxiety and is generaly very keen to please.  However in the last few days she has been very needy requiring to be in constant contact, watches my every move and wants to almost sit on top of me if I sit down long enough!  In some ways she appears to almost be depressed!  She is still enjoying her walks and eating as normal.  This is the time that she had her first season last year although she is now spayed.  Could this have anything to do with her behaviour change?

It's unlikely - but if you are concerned - consult your vet ;)

id disagree & say it may be likely. ive known many spayed bitches be moody & clingy at the time they would have normally had their season

Yes I have also heard of spayed bitches acting differently at the time their season would have been due.
