Sorry, it's a poo topic, but I need some advice pleease!
My 14 week old lab pup is on antibiotics, he has been on them for 9 days now, yesterday I noticed that there was blood in his stools, he has been going very frequently, and soiled his crate twice last night.I thought maybe it's the antibiotics that are responsible for the blood and the frequency, the soiling the crate thing seems to have become a regular occurance since his medication.Chester has been wormed on a regular basis, his last treatment was 1 week ago,(Drontal ) so I don't think it's worms. We have a visit to the vets in a couple of days, our last visit was on Thursday, before the blood appeared, the antibiotics are for kennel cough, which has not cleared up, the vet was reluctant to try any other antibiotic due to Chesters age, because the other tablets could have long term side effects on a puppy. He seems well apart from these symptoms.Obviously I will talk to the vet about this, but wondered if anyone has any advice on kennel cough, or antibiotics causing these problems.(the blood does have me worried)
Many thanks

Yes the Antibiotics can cause loose poo and loose poo can cause blood in the stools. If it is just flects I would not worry about it but mention it to the vet when you see them, if it is all blood I would phone today. Jackie H

Hi there, give your pup some live yogurt, its brilliant for settling down tummies upset by antibiotics, it puts back all the "good" bugs that the antibiotics kill off.
